    Well, Hussain made his debut in 1989 and Kris played his last ODI in 1992 so there was chance that they did play in the same cup

    must be some Canadian or Kenyan born in India.

    but doubt any body would be born in Indore, Ranchi, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh or Kolkata

    The other pair I could think of was far more obvious. Graeme Smith and Andrew Strauss.

    My next clue was going to be that neither was captaining the country of their birth

    Player Hint

    My batting average in test cricket stands higher than my first-class average and yet when you add the number of first-class matches I played, the number of first-class centuries I made and the number of first-class catches I took, the sum total is only 5 more than the number of runs I scored in test cricket.

    A retired but modern-day cricketer who's related to me went on to represent the country I played for on two Ashes tours.
