"I don't feel it is right I'm playing knowing that I'm not 100% and I cannot currently operate at the level I have done in the past," said Trott.

"My priority now is to take a break from cricket so that I can focus on my recovery. I want to wish my team mates all the very best."

Trott's decision has nothing to do with David Warner's comments, Daily Mail reporter Lawrence Booth says.

"Neither Cricket Australia nor Aussie players knew of his condition," Booth tweeted.

    More to come...

How dare you change my title binning.

What is "stress related illness" To me it's another word, for at least in Trott's case not getting runs

If he scored a century, 100% chance he is staying.

I would say Warner could read things in people.

But it's a lucky guess cause Warner's retarded.

I hope it's not actually stress related illness, then it won't be appropriate to laugh at this matter :strauss:

Stress related illness is not specific enough

In Marcus Trescothick biography, he talked about having to take sleeping pills on tours, and having panic attacks in the night (sweating, mind racing etc)

Trott seems like a different individual though, cool, calm collected. Probably something in the family, Grand mother maybe sick?

    LOL. What a weak tart.

I think it's a Mitchell Johnson related condition, not a stress related one. :hehe2: Similar to how the Indians tend to get stomach bugs the morning they check a pitch and see that it's green.

Not as weak as Matthew Wade, who got cancer.

It's funny how a player can never win in these situations. Sure, he developed it ages ago, probably due to to withdrawal symptoms after not getting to face the horrendous Australia attack of 10/11 anymore, but it's actually those very bowlers who caused it. It's why the English players who come out publicly will always be stronger than those from other countries who bottle in. At least Trott has a progressive fan base who won't make bigoted ignorant comments about him personally.

    Get well soon.

On a positive side (if any), I reckon Root gets to bat at 3.. :kid:

Not the thread to discuss changes but while I'm at it, I'd also bring in Bairstow for Prior.

Eager to find out what title Pie gave. :hehe2:

If he had scored a century, it'd have made perfect sense to stay on and put team over self. But, now that he hasn't and looks scratchy, it is better for everyone that he goes home and recover.
