No I did not have to use you as an example. And anything unrelated to the topic of the thread can be put in here.

Never been a fan of avatars such as this one. I would never have an English flag as my avatar, or a "I love England" one. It just reeks of patriotism that should be left in America.

    Optimistic to say the least.

I know I have been part responsible for this, but in my defence anything I try and do to improve the quality of the forum gets frowned upon and attacked.

Not really, you took advantage of the fact that no one on the forum was up for having a bet, and therefore got one that was much in your favour. I would never have put real money on a bet where a series draw is a loss.

I agree with Rager...we all should try and stick to the topic listed in the thread's title. Idle banter and bickerings can go in this thread for example.. so if two morons wanted to pick a fight (for e.g., santo & Cabi... no offense, just examples) you can bring it down here.

    ------------------

Poor Pie has been singled out in the warning thread. To be honest though, we're all making a mess of this.

South Africa won the toss on a good batting pitch and after a solid start wickets started to come gradually. Swann proved the best, mopping up the lower order and tail to finish with 6. England batted the 2 overs of the day out with ease.

The next day started and Cook and Strass started well. Strauss fell to Kallis however, and not long after Trott was out. Pietersen and Cook then got a big partnership together though and with a few contributions from the tail, England got a lead of 172. This was about mid way through the 3rd day FTR.

    Paul Collingwood 6 5 6 1 1.00
    Kevin Pietersen 2 0 18 0 9.00

Broad got Smtih early but Petersen and Amla started to build and suddenly South Africa had already cancelled out the lead. On the 4th day the tail and lower order scored a huge amount of quick runs and managed to give South Afirca a lead of 400

So we got to the last day, England needing 400 runs and South Africa 10 wickets. Now it's here that I tell you how the sim works. You get to control the aggression of the fielding and batting team. The fielding team have 2 aggressions, defensive and attackive. The batting team has 3 aggressions, defensive, medium and attackive. I started the day with South Africa (the fielding side) on aggressive with England defensive. However a solid opening partnership encouraged me to set England to medium, this caused a few wickets and when Kevin Pietersen fell I decided to promote a couple of bowlers to have a hit. This didn't really work and I found myself 179-6. I continued to try and win though, and kept a medium aggression (South Africa were still on aggressive. But when the 7th wicket fell I decided to go into my shell. But then I though heck it's a sim, lets play positively and see what happens, so I quickly put it back to medium. Prior and Bell then duly had a big partnership, but then Bell fell with 100 runs needed, about 15 overs to go and the new ball approaching. I went into my shell for the new ball, however, I didn't realise how far this went into the day, and although I hadn't lost a wicket I now needed 50 in the last 6 overs. I therefore attacked and this resulted in Broad getting out to a silly shot. I continued to attack with 40 needed of 2 overs but Swann got out. South Afirca won by 36 runs with 8 balls of the match left to go. An absolute thriller, where all 4 results were possible until the last ball.

In hindsight, it was a poor move to attack fully, when I needed 40 off 2 overs, but I was proud of my effort and Prior

But that **** Phillander was the main thorn again (Shaun Pollock in the sim)
