    New Contract Lists

    http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/co...ry/589311.html

    This is so funny.

Pune release Steve Smith, Michael Clarke and Graeme Smtih. Keep Wayne Parnell and Luke Wright.

Punjab release Ryan Harris and Stuart Broad. Keep Adam Gichrist (who has said he's retired from cricket)

Rajasthan release Johan Botha and Owais Shah. Keep Shaun Tait.

You shouldn't be realising many players ITBT.

Imagine if Premier League clubs sold half their squad every summer. Would be pure madness.

Well, teams have to look at their salary caps too which is much more stringent in the IPL than in EPL.

So, you might see franchises going for the player in the auctions and try to get him at a lower wage. Although I must admit some of these names mentioned by you are only gonna get higher pay next time around.

I guess most teams are cost-cutting.

Players like Steve Smith will have a higher demand now won't they? Although I won't be surprised if no one buys him.

All this makes the IPL so hard to follow for non Indians. I loved the Pune charge at the start of last season, with Hodge, Shah and Smith smacking it to all parts. But now 2 of them are gone.

I was really into the 2010 IPL, supporting Bangalore. Then they re did the auction.
