    It's a well used tactic and I've heard people who think free hits should be in test matches. Sure you can't get a wicket with a no ball but if you hit the batsmen on the head or chest then your physically harming the batsmen as well psychologically gaining. He probably wasn't doing that though as he looked like getting him out.
